Kampala Queens started this year’s CAF Women’s Champions league qualification campaign in style with a comfortable 3-0 win over Yei Joint Stars 3-0 in a game played at FUFA technical Centre Njeru on Saturday.

Fazila Ikwaput’s hat-trick was enough as Kampala Queens got off the mark more so at home.

The win saw Kampala Queens go top of group A after the first game.

It was a brilliant day Ikwaput, who looked brilliant from the word go.

She got her first in the 13th minute after capitalising from Yei Joint Stars defence mistake before later completing her brace at the stroke of half time.

Fazila , who was brilliant on the day later completed her hattrick in the 69th minute to ensure that her side started off in style.

While speaking after the game, Kampala Queens head coach Coach Charles Nsanziiro praised Fazila and his team for putting up a good show.

“I am proud of my Queens. Fazila is a brilliant player and she took away her chances. It was collective team work and I thank my players , he told the press”

Following Saturday’s victory, Kampala Queens are now on top of group A with three points, same as Ethiopia’s CBE who picked a 2-1 against Buja Queens of Burundi.

Up next for Kampala Queens will be a game against Buja Queens on tuesday next week at the FUFA Technical Centre.

Kampala Queens, who are making their maiden debut on the continent are seeking to make history as the first ever club to reach the final tournament of the CAF Women’s champions League.
