Onduparaka’s Emma Oketch Training With Another Big League Side

Emmanuel Oketch

Emmanuel Oketch is set to leave Arua, where he made a very big name for himself with Onduparaka FC.

During his three years there, the exciting midfielder established himself as one of the best young players in the Uganda Premier League (UPL).

He was a fans’ favorites at Greenlight Stadium. The fans sang his name and showered him with praises during matches – he gave them so much joy, and they loved him so much.

Even in this past season where Onduparaka suffered relegation, fans still attest that their boy Oketch ‘always played well’.

Onduparaka, now a second division side under former striker Ceasar Okhuti as head coach started their pre-season preparations on Thursday, but the midfielder was instead seen in Lira, training with another Big League side, Blacks Power FC.

The player could have been accommodated at the club training just to keep fit as he prepares for his next move, given the good relationship he has with the team’s management. The Lira side always welcomes Lango Province players, even when they’re not attached to the club.

TheSportsNation however, now gathers that Oketch is associating closely with Blacks Power because he has been awarded a contract by the Lira-based Big League side.

Oketch joined Onduparaka from Saviors FC in 2020, in three-year deal that would see him at the club until 2023. His time in Arua, as agreed with the Caterpillars has expired, and he had no intentions to renew, as earlier on expected.

Oketch, who comes from Lira would like to stay and play at home, so he agreed terms to join Blacks Power, sources close to the player have confirmed.
