URA FC will fancy their chances against Bright Stars in a FUFA Super Eight quarterfinal fixture at the Mehta Stadium in Lugazi.
The Tax Collectors will use the match to gauge their new signings in a competitive game for the very first time.
Enock Walusimbi, Moses Aliro, Ibrahim Wammanah, Denis Otim, Laban Tibita among others have joined URA.
“We have had some friendly games so we are ready. This is a tournament that is going to help us to further fine tune our squad and we are going to take it so serious as it will be key ahead of the new season,” URA head coach Sam Timbe noted.
They beat Andy Mwesigwa School and Jinja North United before failing to Vipers in some of their friendlies.
Against Bright Stars, they will be facing a tricky side that has retained a couple of players.
But the major change at Bright Stars has been the decision by the club to part ways with head coach Asaph Mwebaze.
Joseph Mutyaba who has CAF A License, is the new man in charge.
Bright Stars new signings include Kakande Shafiq (captain Buwekula), former URA graduates John Alou Kokus and Steven Mpoza.
Last season, URA picked four points in the league meetings with Bright Stars.
The game played at Nakisunga in Mukono, saw Bright Stars and URA end in a 2-2 draw.
Goals from Skipper Nelson Ssenkatuuka and Emmanuel Loki handed Bright Stars a point. URA had taken a 2-0 lead through James Begisa and George Ssenkaaba.
URA won the other fixture 2-0 thanks to Dada Ibrahim and Kabon Living (penalty) goals.
