Laban Tibita has just completed his long awaited move to URA FC from Busoga United.
The midfielder will be a Tax Collector until atleast 2025, after signing a two-year employment with the Nakawa-based club.
The new acquisition has already made his intentions at the club clear, he wants to leave a a mark at the club.
“I am happy to be here and I want to make my time count. I want to help the club win trophies. URA FC is a big club and totally different from my previous club but I am ready to serve.”
Last season, Tibita scored seven goals, made four assists and was named Man Of The Match five times.
He helped Busoga survive relegation as skipper before being named Pilsner SUPL midfielder of the season, making the team of the season, Busoga MVP as well as leading scorer with seven goals, and that prompted URA to lure him to their side.
Tibita is representing Busoga Province in the ongoing FUFA Drum tournament where he has been influential this season netting two goals so far with one Man Of The Match accolade.
The sillky midfielder is a good dribbler of the ball, has good positioning, can shoot with both feet and has an eye for goal. He’s also aggressive, bit most dangerous with his penetrative passes.
In the Uganda Premier League, Tibita has also previously played for Maroons FC and Tooro United, besides Busoga.
Tibita now becomes URA’s official 12th signing after Sharif Kimbowa, Enoch Walusimbi, Rodgers Omedwa, Dennis Otim, Moses Aliro, Ibrahim Wammanah and Norman Namanya.
The other four signings are teenagers Godfrey Sekibengo, Denis Luzige, John Innocent Kisolo and Amis Bwangani.
