KCCA Not Yet Where I Want Them To Be – Sergio Traguil

New KCCA FC head coach Sergio Traguil says his side still needs to work hard to reach where he wants them to be.

Traguil made the remarks after his side beat Kenya’s Kakamega Homeboyz in an International Friendly played at the Omondi Stadium on Friday last week.

Arafat Usama and Julius Poloto scored a goal each for KCCA FC.

“We are honoured playing Kakamega Homeboyz because they won the Kenyan Cup and it was one more effort for us,” Traguil said.

“We are still far from what I want but I saw many positives in the game, good offensive moments but we have to improve a lot. We are still in the beginning but two good goals and one was from a wonderful play.”

KCCA FC has so far played five games in the pre-season and conceded no goal which Traguil also counts as a positive.

“We have so far played five games and conceded no goal which is good but I believe we are still far from what I want.

“We were the better team and deserved the win.

“We still need to play with a little bit more intensity, this is the first game we are playing with the supporters and I felt it more nervous for the boys in the beginning, there is still more pressure for the young boys and I believe these are things we have to work on mentally and not only tactically. Like I side we still to score need more and more goals.”

New signing Joel Sserunjogi was brought off in the early minutes of the game and Traguil says it was for his protection.

“Sometimes we need to protect young players, imagine he made a mistake and we conceded it could distract the young boy in goal as well.

“Sserunjogi is going to be one of the most important players for us but we have to protect him at an early stage.”

Traguil went further to explain the decision of starting Anthony Emojong ahead of the more experienced Derrick Ochan.

“I’m far from having my starting eleven. Derrick is a good goalkeeper and he knows what I want – building from behind – but not all players that started are in my starting eleven.

“I’m far from my starting players because it’s them to work for a starting slot in the team.”

KCCA FC will play host to Wakiso Giants in the FUFA Super 8 on Friday at Lugogo.
