NGO League To Embrace Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon

The excitement continues to build as the dates for the second edition of the Tusker-Lite Mountain Rwenzori Marathon draw closer.

The much anticipated event returns on September 2 in Kasese.

Over the weekend, Uganda Breweries Limited’s Premium Beers Brand Manager Elizabeth Mutamuliza called on the NGO League participants to register for the upcoming Marathon.

This, was during the NGO League outing on Sunday at Kitante where Old Students of Namilyango College meet to network through their Football League.

“Our purpose for being here was to encourage the Old Boys of Namilyango to turn on their ‘lite’ and register for the marathon,” Mutamuliza said.

“It is an event that will not only be an exciting challenge and adventure, but also one that resonates with what the Ngo League is all about; a commitment to community, health and fitness.”

Mutamuliza confirmed that the online registration deadline has been pushed to allow more people to sign up and be part of the memorable experience.

The Marathon made its debut last year and has since received praise from the public including a Media Outlet in the United States that rated it atop a list of 30 World’s best half Marathons on the globe.

Granted, its uniqueness include running with the imposing Rwenzori Mountain ranges providing a picturesque backdrop.

The marathon will have a 42km full marathon, a 21km half marathon and a 5km fun run.

At the NGO League, 18 teams took on each other, striving to secure the top four positions on the league table.
