Patidar vs Nyakasura @10:00am at Lugogo Cricket Oval

Wanderers Cricket Club and Challengers will both look to continue with their perfect start to the season when the two sides meet on Sunday in the National Men’s 50 Over League at the Green Oval in Entebbe.

Both sides opened their campaigns with commanding victories last weekend. Wanderers were ruthless against Nyakasura, thumping the students by 150 runs while Challengers saw off Patidar by 116 runs.

The two are placed first and third respectively in the table standings heading into this fixture, with Wanderers leading the table on a net run rate.

Having lost this tie in the recently concluded T20 Cup, Wanderers will go into this game seeking for revenge. They will hope their captain Davis Karashani returns with his scoring bat after his heroics against Nyakasura that saw him knock a century of 116.

However, as they have witnessed already, Wanderers will be aware that Challengers won’t be an easy nut to crack. And Challengers will be beefed up, now with the return of their all-rounder Kenneth Waiswa who missed their T20 Cup semi final loss to Avengers.

The last time Waiswa faced Karashani’s team, he won the Player of the Match award. Waiswa plucked three wickets including Ivan Kakande and Hiteshi Prajabti, Wanderers top scorers that day.

Looking to also continue with their good start to the campaign will be Aziz Damani Development. Development will take on Ceylon Lions at the Serenity Oval in Kamengo looking to build on their victory against their sister club Aziz Damani.

Development captained by Cricket Cranes skipper Brian Masaba overcame their sister side by 47 runs last weekend. They will look to follow that huge victory with another.

Ceylon Lions on the other other will be seeking to get their season off and running. Despite having Kenyan international Alex Obanda in their ranks, the side lost by 49 runs to Kutchi Tigers in their opening game.

Ceylon are only making a retune to the league after sitting out the T20 format.

Nyakasura against Patidar will be the other Div 1 game that will be played on Sunday. Both sides also lost their opening games. They will face off at the Lugogo Cricket Oval each looking for a first win of the season.
