Newly promoted Zambia’s Trident Football club have completed the acquisition of goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya.
The Uganda cranes goalkeeper has put ink on a one year contract.
Trident FC is Kigonya’s second club in Zambia having featured for Forest Rangers.
Trident FC gained promotion to the Zambia premier League in the 2022/23 season and will play in the top tier.
Kone, as nicknamed by his fellows, has been a free agent since parting ways with Kenyan side Sofapaka earlier this year.
Kigonya has been on the radar of Uganda premier League clubs inclusive of Vipers and URA FC but opted a return to Zambia.
Kigonya has previously featured for Soltilo BrightStars in the Uganda premier League.
Mathias Kigonya has also played for Tanzania’s Azam FC.
Trident FC is based in Kalumbila North Western province of Zambia
