John Peter Ongodia is set to rejoin Blacks Power as head coach.
The club has been silent in the transfer market, they haven’t announced any new developments regarding departures or arrivals at the club.
But trusted sources have intimated to TheSportsNation that Ongodia is set to replace coach Hussein Mbalangu who left to newly promoted NEC FC, following the team’s demotion to the second division.
Ongodia might be new in Lira where the club is based now, but he is no stranger at Blacks Power. He has been there twice before. He was there way back when team was still Bukedea Central based in Bukedea district.
The coach was with the team from the third division league, promoted them to the second division, and once took them to the FUFA Big League promotional playoffs with only 14 players.
Before Blacks Power eventually getting promotion to the Uganda Premier League, it’s Ongodia who had come the closest, as he, had the preceding season guided the team to their first ever Big League promotional playoffs.
Ongodia then left the club, went to Westnile where he has coached Calvary FC and Arua City FC, he returned nearer home to Bukedea Central, and now he’s finally back ‘home where he belongs’.
The coach knows the team very well, and if the deal goes through, this will be the third time that Ongodia is announced as Blacks Power head coach.
