Uganda Premier League New entrants NEC FC is set to sign Express FC defender Joseph Stephen Dhata, The-SportsNation has learnt.
The South Sudan International will add competition to the Hussein Mbalangu backline.
Once the deal materializes, the 22 years old will join with league experience having played for top clubs in the top flight.
The former South Sudan U-23 player joined Express from Vipers.
Dhata was on the brink of joining El Merriekh last season but the deal didn’t materialize.
National Enterprise Cooperation (NEC) have so far unveiled Ronald Owiny Ogenga, John Paul Acire, Allan Mugalu, Balyejusa Isaac, Maganda Ismael and Brian Kayanja ahead of their debut season in the Uganda Premier League.
NEC was promoted to the top flight after finishing third behind Kitara FC and Mbarara City in their maiden season in the FUFA Big League.
The Bugolobi based side have been approved by FUFA to play in the 2023/2024 Uganda Premier League season after meeting the minimum requirements.
The Die hards will host their matches at KCCA’ MTN Omondi Stadium.
