Striker Charles Lwanga has emerged as a priority signing for two UPL giants after he was let go by KCCA FC.
Christened as Neymar, Lwanga has been contacted by his former team SC Villa and Vipers who are chasing his services.
Vipers were the first to show interest but Villa is currently leading the race and is said to have met top officials at the club on Monday.
It is said that close friends to Lwanga have advised him to join Villa where he might have more playing time than at Kitende.
He was deemed surplus to requirements by new KCCA FC coach Sergio Traguil, and he mutually agreed with the club to let him go with a year left on his contract at Lugogo.
The forward left SC Villa in 2020 as a free agent after a ruling by FUFA’s player status committee against SC Villa who had not cleared his sign-on fees and monthly salaries.
Lwanga scored 33 goals in 35 games for their Villa Junior team before he was promoted to the Club’s senior team
A move to Vipers will hand Lwanga a second bite at Kitende having won the 2019 Copa (National Schools football tournament) with St Mary’s SS.
