URA FC have completed the signing of Shariph Kimbowa from Wakiso Giants. The forward has signed a two year contract with the revenue collectors.
The forward put up an impressive show last season at Wakiso Giants, scoring nine goals from 24 games to help the Purple Sharks finish 8th on a 15-team table.
It’s his consistency that attracted the Tax Collectors to lure the dreadlocked forward to Nakawa.
Kimbowa has had four good years of Uganda Premier League experience, having spent his last two seasons at Wakiso Giants, and the previous two with Busoga United.
At URA, Kimbowa will link up with former Purple Sharks Joshua Lubwama, Moses Aliro and goalkeeping coach Swaibu Ssebagala.
Aliro, who was also unveiled just last week at the club was with Kimbowa in Tanzania for trials at Yanga SC a few weeks ago.
Kimbowa now becomes the club’s tenth signing in this transfer period.
The latest additions to URA are all senior players with national team appearances and huge top division football experience including Enoch Walusimbi, Dennis Otim, Rodgers Omedwa, Moses Aliro, Ibrahim Wammanah and Norman Namanya.
The other four signings are teenagers Godfrey Sekibengo, Denis Luzige, John Innocent Kisolo and Amis Bwangani.
After finishing in a distant fifth position last season, the Tax Collectors now want to battle for gold – they want to assemble a team that they believe will compete for the league title that they last won in 2011 – some 12 years ago.
