    *Uganda 7-0 Burundi

Uganda U18 Women national team cruised past Burundi with a comfortable 7-0 win in a CECAFA Women U18 game held at the Azam Complex Chamazi stadium on Tuesday evening.

A brace each from Kamiyat Naigaga and Shamusa Najjuma and a goal each from Agnes Nabukenya, Phiona Nabulime and Allen Nassazi were enough as Uganda eased past Burundi.

The win sends Uganda on top with nine points, with a better goal difference (11) than second placed Tanzania, who are also tied on the same points.

And Uganda will now need at least a draw in their last game against Tanzania on Friday to be crowned Champions as the tournament is being played on a round-robin basis.

It was another brilliant day for Ayub Khalifa’s Charges, who dominated from the word go.

They got off the mark as early as the fifth minute through Nabukenya to set the tone.

Uganda got their second in the 32nd minute through Naigaga, to head into the break with a 2-0 advantage.

And at the restart, Naigaga completed her brace in the 46th minute before captain Nabulime made it four seven minutes later.

Uganda continued to dorminate and it paid off once again with two more quick goals from substitutes Nassazi and Najjuma.

First, Nassazi scored the fifth at the hour mark before Najjuma added the sixth a minute later.

And later in added time, Najjuma put the icing on the sugar with the seventh goal and it was the last nail in Burundi’s coffin.

Victory ensured that Uganda moved top of the table with now nine points and a better goal difference (11) than hosts Tanzania, who are second.

Khalifa’s charges are yet to concede any goal having beaten Ethiopia (1-0) and Zanzibar (3-0).

They will need at least a draw or even any positive result against Tanzania, in a tournament that is played in a round robin format where the team with the most points takes the championship.
