Uganda Premier League side URA FC has confirmed the release of eleven players.
Among the released players who were confirmed on Sunday include two goalkeepers in Hannington Ssebwalunyo and Yusuf Wasswa .
For Ssebwalunyo, he had joined the Tax Men way back in 2020 – But he has found life hard at URA, given the stiff competition at the club from his teammates Nafian Alionzi and injuries that affected his game time.
Just like Ssebwalunyo, Yusuf Wasswa , who only joined the club last year in September also found time hard at the club and he is now being linked to a return to his former club UPDF.
The other players on the long list of departures include versatile player Patrick Mbowa (contract expired), George Senkaaba (released), left back Patrick Matovu (released), Benjamin Nyakoojo (released), Kabon Living (contract expiry) Kokas Alou (released), Micheal Lubowa (released), Salim Abdallah (released) and Ronald Dickson Kigongo.
For Mbowa, he has already joined Vipers, Nyakoojo to Kitara while George Ssenkaaba and Living Kabon are all set to join new UPL side Kitara FC.
In the ongoing transfer window, URA have already unveiled nine players in a bid to fill the void left by the departing players.
Among the new additions include two goalkeepers Rogers Omedwa and Denis Otim among others.
And they are set to unveil more players including centre back Enock Walusimbi, who ended his stay at Scottish side Peterhead FC.
URA, who finished fifth last season are seeking to reassemble a more competitive side in the upcoming Uganda Premier League season.
