Buddu returned to winning ways with a 2-0 away victory against Buluuli in the 2023 Masaza Cup.

Isaac Ofoyrwoth and Reagan Kirumira scored a goal each for Buddu.

It was a good reaction from Buddu, who were beaten at home by Kyadondo in their previous game last weekend.

The win sends Buddu to the top of Masengere group with nine points after five games.

Buddu, coached by Simon Peter Mugerwa are seeking for a third title, having lost last year’s final to Busiro.

Elsewhere, Mawokota suffered a 3-1 defeat to Mawogola at Ssaza grounds on Saturday.

A brace from Amis Bwangale and Benon Niyonzima ensured that Mawogola picked a deserved home win.

Alex Mutebi scored the only goal for Mawokota as they suffered their first loss in this year’s Masaza Cup edition.

It was another poor day for Mawokota, who had not picked any win in their previous two games, drawing goalless each against Kabula and Ssese respectively.

And the loss piles more misery to Richard Malinga’s men, who started this year’s edition on a bright note.

Mawokota now stay on eight points after five games. They will need a better reaction in their upcoming games if they are to brighten their chances of getting out of the group stages.
