CECAFA U18: Uganda Ease Past Zanzibar

Uganda U18 Women national team picked a deserved 3-0 win over Zanzibar in their second game of the ongoing CECAFA U18 Women Championship in game held at Azam Complex, Chamazi in Tanzania.

Second half goals from Brenda Munyana, Agnes Nabukenya and Phiona Nabulime ensured that Uganda bagged maximum points.

It was the second successive win for Uganda in this tournament, who earlier beat Ethiopia in their opener.

And on thursday, despite a goalless first half against Zanzibar, Uganda came back the better side and it paid off with two quick goals.

Munyana broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute before Nabukenya doubled the lead two minutes later.

Uganda continued to dorminate and Captain Nabulime put the icing on the cake with the third goal in the 83rd minute.

The win takes Uganda to six points and are currently leading with a goal difference of four. Second placed Tanzania (hosts) , who are on three points will play Ethiopia later on Thursday evening.

It is important to note that this tournament is played in a round robin format with five countries taking part including Tanzania (hosts), Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Ethiopia.

The team with the most points at the end will be named champions of this tournament.
