Aziz Kayondo Joins Israel Giants

Uganda Cranes left back Aziz Kayondo has completed a move to Israel giants Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Kayondo joins the side on a year-long loan spell from Spanish side CD Leganes.

The former Vipers SC defender will ink a contract until June 30, 2024 and he is heading to Isreal to complete medical and paper work.

There is an option for Kayondo to join Hapoel on a permanent basis if he impresses the side during the period.

Kayondo left Vipers in April last year to join Czech Republic side MFK Vyskov.

The Club immediately loaned Kayondo to MLS Next Proffessional League side Real Monarchs.

He featured for Uganda U-20 and U-23 teams, and made his Uganda Cranes debut in the 2022 World Cup Qualifier against Rwanda.

He was named one of three finalists for the 2021 Airtel-Fufa Awards Men’s Player of the Year.

Kayondo was also named in the Best XI for the 2020 U-20 AFCON team after leading the Hippos to the finals of the tournament.
