FUFA Big League (FBL) side Booma FC have revealed that their former striker and captain Denis Omedi was sold for a fee of sh30M.
While unveiling their latest acquisition, Kitara only revealed that they had secured the services of the striker on a three-year contract.
Kitara, after Omedi’s Sunday unveiling said: “Welcome the one and only best marksman! Denis Omedi is a Royal through and through until 2025.
A day after, Booma also confirmed the transfer, but with more details: “Our Captain Omedi has left the Club to join new UPL entrants Kitara FC. The transfer has been in the margin of Ugx.25M with add-ons amounting to Ugx.30M.”
The Masindi based club, when contacted was however reluctant to tell who got exactly what in the deal.
It’s quite unusual for a Ugandan club (at all levels) to reveal all the major details of a completed transfer, but this time around, a second division side just did.
The usual trend, that has been followed over the years is ‘just announce the player and mention the years of service agreed in the contract’.
