Uganda’s Women 3×3 senior basketball team has left for the Africa Beach Games in Hammamet in Tunisia.

The team of four has three JKL Lady Dolphins players Hope Akello, Leticia Awor and Agatha Kamwada – Besides Akello, the other two have struggled to break into the starting team of the two-time champions since joining this season.

Shakira Nanvubya who missed a couple of games in the first round (NBL) with an injury, makes the cut, while UCU Coach Nicholas Natuhereza is also part of the contingent.

The selection has turned heads however, with usual names of Sarah Ageno, Brenda Ekone, Zainah Lokwameri and Ritah Imanishimwe dropped.

The second African Beach games in Tunisia will be held from June 23 to June 30.

These will as well act as qualifiers for the World Beach Games in Bali, Indonesia, from 5 to 12 August 2023.
