Esther Iloku Helps Olila Move Second

Olila Cricket Club dislodged Aziz Damani from the second position in the National Women’s T20 League following their double header victory against Jinja SS on Saturday.

After being dropped from the national team that traveled to Rwanda for the Kwibuka tournament, Esther Iloku knocked a combined 134 runs as Olila found little resistance in dispatching Jinja SS at the Jinja SS Cricket Oval.

Iloku notched 87 in the morning game before scoring 47 in the afternoon one.

The ball belonged to Kevin Amuge who picked four wickets, 3 in the morning and one in the afternoon. Naome Amongin also had two wickets in the morning game, but also came in handy for Olila in the afternoon game with her 25 runs.

Akurut Asumin (29 in the morning) and Rachel Achan (15 in the afternoon game) also scored runs for Olila.

Jinja SS’ Rashida Tikabula, like Amuge picked four wickets all together. For Jinja SS, Whitney Nassuna (14), Mary Namiro (21) got the runs in the morning while Hope Mbeiza did so in the afternoon.

Olila who also won their double header game against defending champions Aziz Damani now go second in the table standings with 12 points, two behind their City neighbors, Soroti City.

Jinja SS remain placed second last in the league.
