Uganda Premier league side UPDF FC is set to loose about seven players after the end of their respective contracts.
Ivan Ahimbisibwe who was the club’s top scorer with seven goals leads the exodus.
Ahimbisibwe spent two seasons with UPDF and managed 20 goals in all competitions with three of those coming in the Uganda Cup.
Others are Assistant captains – Left back Oyirwoth Douglas and Midfielder Ibrahim Wammanah, Winger Mugisha Rogers and Defender Samson Kasozi.
Oyirwoth will be remembered for his last gasp scorcher and a contender for goal of the season leveller against KCCA at the MTN Philip Omondi Stadium.
Midfielders Okello Donato and Adriko Rogers will also leave as free agents.
Mugisha who had an impressive season with the Army side and the National team U23 is linked with a move in Europe.
The Seven players were key for UPDF since joining and have been a mainstay at the team.
It should be noted that Goalkeeper Were Derrick will return to Bright Stars after the end of his loan deal.
Brian Ssenyondo’s side narrowly survived relegation after ending the campaign just a point above relegated Blacks Power.
They finished the season 13th on the log with 27 points after 28 matches having won six games, nine draws and thirteen defeats.
