Uganda Premier League sides URA and UPDF are battling for the signature of Arua Hill Defender Vuni Bright Joseph, The-SportsNation has learnt.

Vuni joined Arua Hill from UPDF in 2021 and is set to leave after just two seasons with the Arua based side.

He was nominated as the best Defender of the season in 2021/2022 in his debut season at Arua Hill and also named in the team of the season.

With two years left on his contract, Vuni last played for Arua Hill in a 3-1 defeat by UPDF at the Bombo Barracks Ground in April.

It should be noted that Vuni made his debut in the Uganda Premier League for UPDF against Busoga United in 2020 and a return to his boyhood club will be his second stint.

However, the Army side face stiff competition from URA who are also craving for the services of the hard tackling fast growing central defender.
