Nam Blazers will hope to end the National Basketball League First Round on a high when they face Our Saviour at Indoor Arena in Lugogo.

The Blazers, with seven wins and three losses, are fourth on the log behind City Oilers, KIU Titans and UCU Canons.

And a win on Wednesday will see them end the first round in third, just leapfrogging UCU who has seven wins – Oilers finished unbeaten while KIU Titans have nine wins and three losses.

And it’s strong to note that the Blazers’ three losses have come against the teams above them – They lost to Oilers in the League opener, fell to UCU in over time and recently beaten by KIU Titans 74-69.

Since losing to KIU on May 5, they have won two in a row against UPDF Tomahawks and Ndejje University Angels.

Peter Cheng, without doubt, has been their best player, and on his debut season in top flight, he has started all 10 games, averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds!

Michael Makiadi is also averaging a double double per game, while Geoffrey Soro and Paul Odongo are averaging double figures in scoring.

Our Saviour on the other hand, may not match Nam Blazers in terms of quality in their roster, but have played as a team and this first half of the season has been brilliant by their standards.

They have six wins in 10 games, with a recent 55-63 loss against Power ending their five-game winning streak.

Moses Mugisha is averaging 12 points and 10 rebounds and will be their source of inspiration on Wednesday.

Our Saviour beat Nam Blazers 61-59 in the First Round of last season and will bank on this to string another surprising result.
