The Uganda Premier League secretariat has adjusted the kick off time for the final match Day games.
The secretariat has Said that all games will kick off at 3pm from the initial 4 Pm slated time.
And the reason for the new adjustments is to give a enough time for celebrations for any of the top three teams in SC Villa, KCCA FC and Vipers who will battle for the title on the last day of the season on Saturday 27th this month.
The statement from the secretariat reads
“As we draw closer to the season’s end scheduled for Saturday 27th May 2023, with one match left and yet the difference between the Top three clubs is 2 points; the UPL Secretariat has adjusted the kickoff time for Match-Day 30 from 4:00pm to 3:00pm.
This is done to enable us hold a successful crowning event at any of the venues for the Club that emerges Champions for the 2022/23 StarTimes Uganda Premier League.” Reads a statement from the UPL Secretariat.
Heading into the final day of the league on Saturday, any three teams are all in position to win this year’s Uganda premier League title.
SC Villa went on top after beating Blacks Power 1-0 on Tuesday to move to 52 points.
But they are just two points above second placed Vipers and third placed KCCA FC, who both dropped vital points on Tuesday.
Villa will play URA FC on the last day and are now just a win away from being crowned Champions to end their title drought ever since 2004.
Vipers on the other hand, will also need just maximum points against Busoga United on Saturday and pray that Villa drop points if they are to win this year’s title.
While third placed KCCA FC will also need three points against Bright Stars at home , and also pray that Villa and Vipers drop points on the last of the season
