Sadam Juma names his favourite for this year’s UPL title

Former Uganda Cranes midfielder Saddam Juma has revealed that KCCA is his favourite team to win this year’s Uganda Premier League title.

The former KCCA midfielder made those remarks while appearing on NBS Sports TV on Monday evening.

The trio of SC Villa, KCCA and Vipers are all tied on 46 points with three games to end the season.

And Juma has played for all the three said clubs.

When asked about his favourite side to take the trophy, Juma boldly said that KCCA FC his favourites

“KCCA is my favourite. They have a good squad, mixed with young and experienced players. Basing on their remaining games, if they can beat BUL at home, win Busoga United, they are good to go, he said.

Juma is one of the few players in the country that has played for all the trio that are competing for this year’s Uganda premier League title.

And his recent team was SC Villa, a side he left last year in July 2022, after close to two years with the Joggos

Among the three top sides this season, Villa is a surprise team to many given their young squad and a youthful coach in Jackson Magera.

About Villa’s chances of winning the title, Juma said

“Yes they have had a good season, but I think, experience will beat them at this stage.”

The three sides will be in action on Tuesday, with leaders Vipers hosting Express, KCCA welcome BUL FC at Lugogo while Villa visit UPDF FC at Bombo.

And as it stands, if the three top sides win all their remaining three games, the league will most likely be decided by goal difference.
