KIU Titans and Nam Blazers will renew their rivalry on Friday night at YMCA in the National Basketball League.

The Blazers eliminated KIU Titans in the Quarterfinals playoffs last season, winning the series 2-1.

At the start of the ongoing season, KIU plundered Nam Blazers to sign three players including arguably the regular season MVP Amisi ‘Carmelo’ Saidi.

Collins Kasujja and Peter Obleng are the other two players, with the duo making a return to KIU.

The move did not sit well with the top bosses at Namuwongo who claimed that KIU acquired the players who were still on contact, and accused KIU Titans president Nasser Sserunjogi who doubles as the FUBA President for overusing his powers!

KIU, with the new signings including Innocent Ochera and Joel Lukoji, fronted themselves as the new title challengers for City Oilers, as it was the case for Blazers last season.

And Blazers will want to reclaim their status when the two sides meet.

The two clubs have since the beginning of the season traded jabs on social media, a battle their fans have ably joined.

The Blazers won the two regular season games last year 76-58 and 81-56, but a lot has changed since then.

This season, Nam Blazers have lost two games in seven, with their defeats coming against City Oilers and UCU Canons.

The Titans (6-1) lost their opener against City Oilers, but have since won six on the bounce and will be favourites to claim the victory.

Probable Lineups

Nam Blazers – Chris Omanye, Paul Odong, Geoffrey Soro, Peter Cheng, Michael Makiadi

KIU Titans – Joel Lukoji, Innocent Ochera, Peter Obleng, Amisi Saidi, Stanley Mugerwa
