KCCA FC 2-2 Onduparaka
Emmanuel Oketch scored at the death as his side picked a 2-all draw against KCCA FC in a game held at Lugogo on Tuesday.
Oketch, who was brilliant on the day, scored in added time to complete his double and also frustrate the home side.
Moses Waiswa and Allan Okello had earlier put KCCA FC ahead at the start of the second half and they were on course for another victory.
It was a poor day for KCCA, who had dominated for the best part of the game.
And before Tuesday, KCCA had won all the six home meetings against Onduparaka, scoring 27 and conceding twice.
The draw leaves them on 45 points, one behind leaders Villa who will visit Maroons on wednesday and a big blow in their title quest.
For Onduparaka, it was a spirited team performance from a side that is rock bottom on the table.
At halftime, the hosts, KCCA will rue missed chances, on a day they dorminated from the word go.
They had plenty of chances at halftime, but were wasteful.
Muhammad Ssenoga’s effort was kept out for a corner while Moses Waiswa and Saidi Mayanja all came close.
After the break, Jackson Mayanja’s charges continued with their dorminance and it wasn’t a surprise when they scored first.
Waiswa broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute, scoring from a free kick to send the home side into wild celebrations.
Okello later made it two with three minutes past the hour mark, thanks to a pass from substitute Julius Poloto.
But later, Onduparaka, who were two goals down started gaining momentum as they launched a come back.
Nathan Oloro was the first to scare on goal but his effort was kept out by KCCA FC goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan.
They continued to press the KCCA backline and it paid off in the 88th minute through Oketch, a goal that gave them life.
And later in added time, Oketch levelled matters at the death to send the visiting fans into wild celebrations.
The draw was a frustration to KCCA, and more so at their own home in Lugogo.
For Onduparaka, it was a vital point in their quest to survive relegation this season. They moved to 15 points but remained at the bottom and they will be hoping for the same energy in their remaining fixtures.
