UCU Canons registered their second win of the ongoing NBL campaign after overcoming JKL Dolphins.
The Canons quickly got out of the blocks to take a 16-05 first quarter lead to claim the win despite a strong fight back from the Dolphins in the second Quarter.
JKL had cut the deficit to three points (31-28) at halftime but couldn’t replicate that effort in the second half where they managed a combined 13 points.
Lwabaga Ibanda was 6-for-13 on the floor to collect a game high 14 points whole Kevin Kasobya (13 points), Peter Sifuma (15 rebounds) and Rogers Dauna (10 rebounds) also contributed heavily in the victory.
Denis Tom Omara had 12 points while Derrick Katumba weighed in with 18 rebounds in a losing effort.
JKL missed 45 of their 54 attempts from inside, while their bench managed just 13 on the night.
It’s win number two for Coach Nicholas Natuhereza side who beat Nam Blazers in Overtime.
For JKL, their search for a second win will continue having lost four of their five games this season.
In the Women’s division, Maureen Amoding led with 17 points while Sarah Ageno added a 12-point and 15-rebound double double as JT Lady Jaguars eased past Miracle Ravens for their fifth win.
Action return on Friday with a UCU double-header. The Ladies face off with KIU Rangers while the Men meet Power at Lugogo.
