Express Target Busoga United Double

Express will be hoping to complete a league double over Busoga United when the two sides meet on Match-day 23 of the Uganda Premier League at Wankulukuku.

The Red Eagles won the reverse fixture 3-0, a boardroom decision to be clear.

The decision came after the real game had ended in chaos after Police needed tear gas to disperse rowdy Busoga United fans.

Then, Express had taken a late lead through Allan Kayiwa who had struct from a well taken free-kick.

The game was abandoned in added time, and FUFA later and rightly awarded Express a win (3-0) and also deducted three points off Busoga United.

Busoga who have been fighting to survive the drop since, have got breathing space of recent.

They sit six points above the red line after 21 games, but they will be well aware that they cannot rest on their laurels with seven games still to play.

And they just have to keep on grinding results and see what happens thereafter.

Busoga United has collected four wins from their last six league games, and they will be banking on that good form to pick at least a point at Wankulukuku.

For the Red Eagles, they sit three points above Busoga United, and that alone will be their main reason to worry as a loss will push the side into the relegation dog fight.

Despite winning their last two league games, Express come into this fixture on the back of Uganda Cup elimination away to Adjumani.

Stats

Express are currently 10th on the log with 25 points after 20 games.

For Busoga United, they are 13th on the table with 22 points collected from 21 games so far in the season.
