KCCA FC Seek To Close Gap Atop
KCCA will seek to cut SC Villa’s lead at the top of the Uganda Premier League when they take a visit to Blacks Power on Wednesday.
The Lugogo-based side trail SC Villa by four points, but will remain confident of their title chances since they have played three games fewer than the leaders.
But they come into the fixture at Akii-bua stadium on the back of a 1-1 draw against Maroons at Lugogo and will be hoping to avoid another slip.
With 36 points, Morley Byekwaso’s charges will move to within a point of Villa and with two games in hand.
KCCA cannot afford another slip given that Vipers who have also played fewer games, will be expected to start knocking on log leadership.
They have collected four points out of a possible nine in their last three UPL visits.
Blacks Power on the other hand, sit second from the bottom with 15 points after 19 games.
The newcomers must play each game like a final if they are to gather points as they seek to retain their league status this season.
Blacks Power beat Wakiso Giants 1-0 in their last home league game, a result that snapped their three game winless run at Akii-bua.
Blacks Power lost the first round leg 4-1 at Lugogo with Bronson Nsubuga, who has since joined Mbarara City, scoring the consolation.
Allan Okello and Rogers Mato who scored a brace each for KCCA, will be darlings as they return home and are expected to attract a huge Lango crowd.
