Fortebet Real Star Sports Awards continued to reward excellency after recognizing the best of March from Seven Sports Disciplines.
Among the winners is Rogers Mato who scored the only goal as Uganda Cranes beat Tanzania in Dar Es Salaam to keep the Country’s AFCON Qualification chances alive.
The KCCA FC attacker also scored twice for his club last month, one against Mbarara City (Uganda Cup) and in the league against Arua Hill.
Mato beat Laban Tibita and David Owor of Busoga United and SC Villa respectively.
Collins Kimbowa of KOBs was the best of Rugby Player of the month of March, to seal a KOBs back-to-back after Pius Ogena had taken the best of February.
The Prop was outstanding during the team’s five games as they finished the month atop with 55 games then.
Eric Tolit (Buffaloes) and Ogena were the other nominees.
Latib Muwonge was named the Best Boxer of the concluded month after beating Tanzanian Albano Clement in the Super Lightweight by an unanimous decision to clinch the ABU Title.
Muwonge, whose ring name is the Dancing Rasta and a brother to Musician Young Mulo, edged the accolade ahead of Nominees Kassim Murungi and Bruce Kimbugwe.
In Rally, the crew of Yassin Nasser and Ali Katumba emerged the winners after finishing second at the Kenya Equator Rally.
Jas Mangat who finished third at the same Equator event and Joshua Muwanguzi who won the Jacob Oulanya Memorial Autocross in Omoro, were the other nominees.
Parvin Nangozi beat Jemimah Nakawala and Samuel Ankunda to the best Table Tennis player after qualifying for the Africa Senior Championship.
Joyce Nalubega is the best in Woodball, beating Thomas Kedi and Joyce Nalubega, for winning the Beacg Circuit with 39 strokes, Strokes singles at Kyambogo and also Silver at the Women Doubles at the Women’s Day Championship.
In Darts, the winner is Sarah Makanga after she registered a 4-0 and 4-1 win of Egyptians at the final of the African Darts Championship in Women Singles and she also won the Egyptian Darts Open Singles category.
Henry Job Odoi and Bosco Lepi were the other nominees.
The event, sponsored by Fortebet and Jude Colour Solutions, was held at Lazio Restaurant in Kololo/Lugogo, Kampala.
