Travis Mutyaba, off the bench, almost put Villa ahead only to be denied by the woodwork.

The youngster was later brought down yards outside the box by Ibrahim Kayiwa, a free kick that Busoga failed to defend for Kalule to score the only goal.

Villa moves to 37 points, two above KCCA FC who have played three games less.

For Busoga United, they are third from the bottom with 18 points after 19 games.
