Kitara FC returned to the summit of the FUFA Big League following their 1-0 win over Police FC in a game held at Kigaaya play grounds on Thursday.

Moses Sseruyidde scored the all important goal in the second half to ensure that his side returned back to the top.

It was a needed win for Sam Simbwa’s men who had fallen to Calvary FC in their previous game. They now move to 46 points, two ahead of second placed Mbarara City.

For Police, it was a bad day in office for them in their quest to keep up in the race.

The game, held at Kigaaya play grounds saw a limited chances from both sides throughout the entire first half.

But after the break, Kitara showed early signs to score first.

And it paid off in the 62nd minute through Sseruyidde, who scored from a well taken free kick and his goal turned out the winner.

Police tried to stage a come back for the best part of the remaining minutes but lacked enough ideas in the final third to break a well organized Kitara side.

Victory ensured that Kitara bounced back to winning ways. They are now on 46 points and will be hoping for the same momentum as they target promotion to the Top flight league next season.

For Police FC, it was a poor outing for them as they suffered a third defeat in the season. They remained 4th with 40 points and will be seeking to bounce back in the upcoming fixtures.
