Sunday, March 26

Challengers 102/4 (17.4/20 Ov)

*Challengers won by 6 wickets

Kenneth Waiswa continued with his impressive form on Sunday as Challengers Cricket Club beat Patidar by 6 wickets at the Green Oval in Entebbe in their opening game of the Uganda Cricket Association T20 Tournament.

Waiswa, fresh from an enviable display in Qatar with the Cricket Cranes was a breathe of fresh air to his new side!

The 24-year-old registered the best figures for Aneef Sha Mohammed’s team on both the bowling and batting fronts as Challengers who are in Group B of this tournament secured a desirable start.

He first picked up two wickets including Navin Pindoria – Patidar’s top run-scorer with 66 – before hitting 51 not out in his side’s innings.

Siraje Nsubuga, who like Waiswa was debuting for Challengers, also had a decent show with two wickets to his name. It was a start that Aneef who is banking on these two to return them to glory land will be happy about.

Challengers take a long break! They will return to action on May 14 against Nyakasura Cricket Club after the Victoria Series set to take place between April 16 and April 23.

The next Group B match will be played on Sunday in Entebbe, and it will be Avengers taking on Wanderers.
