Kampala Queens have won their maiden Fufa Women Super league title following a 2-0 win over UCU Lady Cardinals on Sunday.

A first half own goal from Bridget Nabisaalu and a late strike from Shamirah Naluggya ensured that the Queens of Soccer picked a historical victory.

The win, 13th for Kampala Queens saw them move to 40 points and win the title with four games to spare.

It’s been a wonderful season for Kampala Queens, who are still unbeaten after 14 games.

Heading to Sunday’s game, they needed just a point to seal their first trophy in club history, and they did just enough.

They got off the mark when Bridget Nabisaalu connected into her own net in the 24th minute, a goal that was the difference at half time.

In the second half, it was just maintaining their lead and waited for the moment to add on their tally.

And late in the game, Naluggya made no mistake to score the second goal, thanks to a pass from Captain Zainah Namuleme.

Victory ensured that Kampala Queens picked a historical win. They moved to 40 points and are 17 points above second placed Uganda Martyrs, who lost to Makerere University on Sunday.

For UCU, the loss was their 6th in the season and they remained 4th on the log with 22 points.
