Newcomers JT Lady Jaguars turned on the style to ease past Nkumba Lady Marines in their first NBL game of the season.

The Division One Champions, stacked with a couple of experienced players, didn’t break any sweat to win by 51 points.

JT did not go through their gears but managed to limit Nkumba to below double digits in every quarter, including a second where they managed just two points.

Sarah Ageno had a double double of a game high 20 points and 13 rebounds, Zainah Lokwameri filled the stat sheet with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists

Marion Esther, facing off her former side, contributed 10 points and everyone on the team, except Patricia Alado, was on the scoresheet.

JT, because of the quality roster that include among others Namuwaya Muhayimuna, Rhoda Nagita, Ruth Letaru and Brenda Kayaga among others, are real title contenders this season.

Melissa Kyazze and Catherine Nakimuli top scored for Nkumba with 9 and 6 points respectively while the bench contributed a combined 3 points.

They were out-rebounded 64-29 and shot a lowly 10-of-63 from the field.

Nkumba were relegated last season, and are playing in NBL on the mercy of NBL decision to recall the two relegated sides (and A1 Challenge)

And they must right the wrongs early if they harbour plans of to staying afloat.

Coaches Jeff Omondi and Sudi Ulanga will be pleased with the JT performance but there will be tougher games as the season progress.

The Jaguars return to action on Sunday midday at Lugogo against Magic Stormers.

  1. Just like City Oilers live skinned Dmark Power and used their preparation for BAL as a consolation in a century score , the JT white jaguars too are preparing for the finals …Nkumba fell in the teeth gap of 🦝 hangry jaguars
