Maroons Cruise Past Arua Hill in Luzira

Tuesday 21st March
SC Villa 1-0 BUL
Maroons 2-0 Arua Hill

Hosts Maroons detained Arua Hill at the Luzira prisons ground after a deserved 2-0 victory in the Startimes Uganda Premier League.

Goals in each half from Abel Eturude and Darius Ojok gave Maroons all three points.

It was a perfect revenge for Maroons after a 3-1 defeat in the reverse fixture at the Barifa Ground.

The Prisons Warders have now won three of the four matches in the second round and drawing the other one.

For Arua Hill their search for the first point this year continues after losing both games so far.

Maroons had a lively start breaking the deadlock in the 5th minute through Eturude whose goal bound strike pounced on the thighs of Ivan Okello.

It was all Maroons in the first half and they were unlucky to score just one goal after a number of attempts.

Including Tusubira’s goal that was wrongly ruled out for offside after tapping from close range off Amaku’s teasing ball.

Eturude could have scored a halftime brace, Felix Ojok strike over the bar and Solomon Walusimbi rocket that was nicely saved by Goalkeeper Richard Anyama as well as Tusubira missing an empty net all chances wasted in the first stanza.

Arua Hill looked an improved side in the second half.

Innocent Media twice came close for the visitors but his attempts went wide before he was denied a penalty after being clipped by the Goalkeeper.

In the 72nd minute, Substitute Ojok who came on for Felix Okot doubled the host’s lead rebounding from Amaku strike that was saved by the Goalkeeper just on the path of the goalscorer.

The hosts could have added another one but Anyama once again came to the rescue to stop Kigozi’s freekick.

Maroons leapfrog Arua Hill to move 6th on the log with 25 points in 18 matches while Arua Hill drops to 9th with 23 points after 16 matches.
