Preview: SC Villa Eye Revenge
SC Villa play host to BUL in a League game at Aki-bua Stadium in Lira, the fourth meeting this season for the two sides including a Uganda Cup game that was replayed.
In the first round, BUL edged the contest at Njeru, with Richard Wandyaka scoring the only goal of the game.
In Uganda Cup, BUL once again beat SC Villa 1-0, thanks to Ronald Otti’s header.
But FUFA dramatically ordered for a replay after Villa had a goal wrongly disallowed for offside.
And BUL went on to win the replay at Njeru, 1-0, with Ibrahim Nsimbe’s goal the difference in what was coach Alex Isabirye’s last game at BUL.
And it’s strong to note that BUL eliminated SC Villa out of the Uganda Cup last season.
The Jogoos will be hoping for maximum points as they also target to close down the four-point deficit adrift of champions KCCA FC who have played a game less.
Unlike BUL who faced Onduparaka last week, SC Villa are at an advantage having rested more since their last action was a 2-1 win over Express FC two weeks back.
The Jogoos (31) are two points above BUL (29) and a win hands them an opportunity to move five clear.
This, is SC Villa’s last game at Aki-bua where they have hosted their last four games behind closed doors after a FUFA ban.
BUL have been poor travellers this season, having won just once in their last seven league games.
