*KCCA Vs Mbarara City, Lugogo
KCCA will be targeting a place in the Quarterfinals when they welcome FUFA Big League side Mbarara City in the round of 16 of the Stanbic Bank Uganda Cup.
The Lugogo-based side, comfortably seated at the summit of the league, habours hopes of winning a double this season.
And they will fancy their chances against a Big League side in Mbarara City.
But KCCA coach Morley Byekwaso is aware of Mbarara’s threat.
“We are facing a stubborn side, a team that has disturbed us during previous seasons,” Byekwaso said.
“They know how to answer our questions, very resilient and we cannot underestimate them because this competition is very hard.
“We have prepared well, had build up matches, rested well and I believe we’re in a good position to face our opponents.”
KCCA will be without key players Geoffrey Wasswa, Allan Okello and Rogers Mato who are with Uganda Cranes team of locally-based players in Kitara for the Regional tour encounter.
To make this stage, KCCA comfortably beat Kataka FC 3-0.
The Ankole Lions on the other hand needed a 1-0 win at Kakyeka to overcome Admin FC.
Vipers, BUL, Express and Bright Stars have already reached the Quarterfinals of this ongoing competition, whose winner represents Uganda in CAF confederation Cup.
