Luweero United registered a 2-0 win over NEC FC in a FUFA Big League game held at the Kasana grounds on Thursday.

First half goals from Balyejusa Isaac and Arafat Ssentongo ensured that Luweero picked a deserved win on the day.

The win, seventh for Luweero ensured that they returned to winning ways. They are now out relegation and moved to 25 points in the 10th position.

For NEC FC, it was a poor outing for them as they suffered a second successive defeat in a row, having suffered a 1-0 loss to Kitara last week.

The hosts, Luweero earned a dream start when Balyejusa put them ahead in the 12th minute of the game.

They kept on pushing for another goal and it paid off through Ssentongo, who scored the second in the 37th minute to put them in a 2-0 comfortable lead before the break.

After the break, NEC tried to stage a come back but failed to find a breakthrough throughout the game.

And the hosts, who were already two goals ahead did just enough to pick up a needed result at home.

Victory ensured that Luweero bounced back to winning ways. It was a big result for them in their quest to survive relagation this season.

For NEC FC, it was a big blow for them in their quest to keep up in this year’s FUFA Big league race. They remained fourth with 37 points and are now six points below leaders Kitara FC, who picked a 2-0 over Kataka on Thursday.
