Uganda Premier League secretariat has confirmed postponing a titanic clash between Vipers and KCCA.
Vipers, defending champions, were set to host leaders KCCA on March 21 at Kitende in the league.
The fixture has been postponed because the said teams have players on the Uganda Cranes side that is preparing for AFCON Qualifiers.
Per competition rules, if a club has three (3) or more players called to the National team, the fixtures involving such a team may be called off.
Therefore, fixtures involving clubs with three or more players summoned on Uganda Cranes team preparing for Tanzania in AFCON Qualifiers have been postponed.
The other affected fixture is between URA and Busoga United that was meant to be played on March 19.
UPL said that new dates for the two postponed games will be set.
Siraje Sentamu, Livingston Mulondo and Rogers Torach are part of Micho’s provisional squad.
Geoffrey Wasswa, Allan Okello and Rogers Mato are KCCA players initially summoned for the Tanzania clash.
Alionzi Nafian, James Begisa and Derrick Ndahiro are the URA FC players that are part of Uganda Cranes squad.
Uganda Cranes face Tanzania on March 24 in Egypt before visiting the side in Dar on March 28.
It’s strong to remember that Uganda Cranes team of locally based players will face Kitara in a Regional Tour match this weekend, and Micho summoned more players from the teams.
