Stanbic Uganda Cup joint-record champions Express welcome West Nile Regional League side Paidha Black Angels in the Round of 16 at Wankulukuku.

Paidha BA stands in the Red Eagles way to the Quarterfinals, but the hosts will back themselves to progress in their bid to add a 11th Uganda Cup title.

Express will have to be at their best to avoid an upset and there is growing pressure at the Club after a poor run in the league as highlighted in their loss against SC Villa.

Speaking ahead of the game, Express Head Coach James Odoch have admitted that they have been struggling but they will bounce back.

“We’ve have not been having the best of results and we want to change things on Wednesday,” Odoch told the club.

“Paidha is a good team without a doubt but we are also better coming into this fixture.

“We have a few injuries however we shall use the available players to see that we progress to the next round and keep our hopes of lifting the silverware this season alive.”

Progressing to this round, Allan Kayiwa’s first half penalty inspired Express to a 1-0 victory over Big League side Lugazi FC in a game that they hosted at Luzira.

For Paidha Black Angels, they will seek to use their underdog status to cause a shocker.

The Blacks have pedigree in this Cup having played the final in 2017 despite losing 2-0 to KCCA at the Greenlight Stadium in the final.

That was a fairytale campaign where they even ejected Vipers in Kitende courtesy of Fred Amaku’s strike.

The Paidha-based side was initially knocked out by Kisugu United 5-4 on Penalties after a one-all draw in normal time.

However, they won the petition after the Kampala Regional League side used three ineligible players.
