South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns stormed into the CAF Champions League quarterfinals with a deserved victory over Al Ahly.
Sundowns beat Al Ahly 5-2 in a seven-goal thriller at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
Peter Shalulie scored a brace while Marcelo Allende, Themba Zwane and Teboho Mokoena added a goal each.
Sherif Mohamed and Percy Tau were on target for the Visitors who drew the reverse fixture 2-2 in Cairo.
And Sundowns, with two games to spare, are into the knockout and will fancy their chances to win African gold again since 2016.
They will visit Al Hilal on March 18 in Sudan before welcoming Cotton Sport on March 31, per the fixture.
