Uganda Hippos forward Rogers Mugisha has been named in the just concluded Total Energies AFCON U20 team of the tournament that was held in Egypt.
Despite his side Uganda finishing at the quarter finals, Mugisha has made the final team in a tournament that had a lot of top talents.
The tournament, held in Egypt, was won by Senegal, who beat The Gambia 2-0 in the finals last Saturday to walk away with the big prize.
It’s a deserved honour for Mugisha, who was the shinning star throughout all Uganda’s games.
He was a joy to watch thanks to his pace and trickery, shining brightest in a team that has buzzing stars like Travis Mutyaba, Isma Mugulusi and Titus Ssematimba among others.
Mugisha, who plays for UPDF was named the man of the match in the Hippos opening game against Central African Republic, thanks to his good performance on that day.
And after the group stages, Mugisha, together with his teammate defender Rogers Torach were later named in the Best XI of the group stages.
The team is dorminated by the champions Senegal with four players, including top scorer of the tournament Pape Demba Diop.
