Sserunjogi Vs Gumisiriza – FUBA Go To The Polls

Federation of Uganda Basketball Association (FUBA) will have their Elections on Saturday, March 11 during the Annual General Meeting at Hotel Africana in Kampala.

Gordon Gumisiriza will be hoping to unseat Incumbent Nasser Sserunjogi for Presidency in what promises to be a tight race.

Sserunjogi replaced Current NCS Chairman Ambrose Tashobya back when he won the 2019 Elections against Grace Kwizera.

Sserunjogi is a lawyer and also doubles as the President for KIU Titans while Gumisiriza is a businessman, manager for Berkely Reloaded and previously been the Finance Manager for FUBA Lower League Management Committee from 2018 until last year in June.

Early this week, the two candidates were hosted on NBS Sport in what was dubbed as the FUBA Presidential Debate.

Gordon Gumisiriza: “I would like to thank Nasser and his Executive for the stewardship they have rendered in their reign, that notwithstanding, we feel that there are certain places where we have been left behind while we are dragged, promises that have not been fulfilled and we feel that with new promises that are coming on, we cannot entirely believe that the new ones are going to be delivered when the old ones haven’t.”

Nasser Sserunjogi: “We have been in office for four years but out of the four, two have been affected by Covid-19, but still I believe that there is a lot of work that has been done. We have plans to secure land, it’s about 20 acres where we have come up with a master plan to have an indoor stadium, four outdoor courts, gyms and hostel. We want to use this to generate money. I am tried, tested and please do not gamble with your future.”
