Jinja North United 2-1 Soroti City.

First Half brace from Paul Kibande handed Jinja North United a 2-1 victory over Soroti City at Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe in the FUFA Big League.

Olaboro Lawrence was on target for the visitors but his effort was just a consolation.

The win means Jinja North have completed a double over their counterparts.

The hosts were dominant throughout the first half with the visitors doing more defensive work in a soggy Kyabazinga Stadium.

Kibande broke the deadlock to give the hosts a deserved lead in the 22nd minute thanks to a cut back header from David Bagoole off Outa Dickson delivery.

In the 41st minute, Kibande completed his brace to double his side’s lead from a rebound after the Goalkeeper saved Matama Dickson’ shot.

The visitors pulled one back through Olaboro who volleyed home an Odeke Simon Peter delivery in the 44th minute.

Soroti City came back more hungry in the second half but they were denied by Goalkeeper Wekiya Salim masterpiece.

The Custodian made crucial saves to deny Olaboro on three occasions.

Jinja North United move to 7th with 27 points while Soroti City remain in 14th with 20 points after 20 matches.

They will return to action on Thursday 16th as Jinja North United will travel to Adjumani TC at Paridi Playground while Soroti City will host Lugazi FC at Soroti Municipal Stadium.
