Arua Hill Defenders Among Uganda-based Players In South Sudan Squad

South Sudan National Team Head Coach Stefano Cusin has named two Arua Hill defenders in the draft squad ahead of a double header with Congo Brazzaville in Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

Arua Hill captain Rashid Toha and Right Back Atendele Geriga are among the six Uganda based players summoned.

Joseph Dhata of Express FC, Emmanuel Loki of Bright Stars, Ivan Wani Adebo who plays for BUL FC and Calvary’s Norman Lumumba.

Former KCCA and Vipers striker Tito Okello who currently plays for Iran based Paykan FC, is part of the squad.

The squad of 39 players summoned will Kickstart preparations on Saturday, March 11th with fourteen locally based players.

The ‘Bright Stars’ will be in action on March 23rd and 27th against Congo Brazzaville in the double header as they seek to turn their fortunes round.

They will travel to Brazzaville on 23rd at Stade Alphonse Massamba Debat before hosting them in Dar-es-Salaam Tanzania four days later.

South Sudan have lost their opening two group games against Mali (1-3) and Gambia (1-0).

They sit bottom of group G without a single point after two matches three below second and third placed Congo Brazzaville and Gambia respectively and six shy of leaders Mali.
