Uganda Cup: Round of 16 Dates Confirmed

The FUFA Competitions Department have announced the dates for the stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 16.

The Knockout ties will be played from Tuesday 14th March to Monday 20th.

However, the pending Round of 32 game between BUL and Villa that the CDP ordered to be replayed after Charles Bbaale equaliser for Villa was disallowed will be played on Saturday 11th March at the FUFA Technical Centre Njeru.

Three of the teams in the Round of 16 are from the Regional League namely Paidha Black Angels from the West Nile Regional League, Kiyinda Boys from the Buganda Regional League and Bunyaruguru United from the Ankole Regional League.

However, Paidha Black Angels won their petition against Kisugu United for fielding ineligible players despite losing 4-3 on Penalties after a one all draw in normal time

Kitara FC, Mbarara City, Police FC, Calvary FC, Ndejje University and Adjumani Town Council are the six FUFA Big League teams remaining in the competition.

BUL/Villa, Wakiso Giants, Vipers, Soltilo Bright Stars, Express, Onduparaka and KCCA represent Uganda Premier League.

Four of the eight Round of 16 games will be broadcasted live on FUFA TV.

On Tuesday 14th March, Wakiso Giants will host Vipers at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium and the game will be live on FUFA TV.

On the same day Soltilo Bright Stars will welcome Buganda Regional League side Kiyinda Boys at Kavumba Recreation Ground.

On Wednesday 15th March live on FUFA TV, West Nile Regional League side Paidha Black Angels will visit Express at Wankulukuku Stadium.

As Onduparaka face the winner between BUL and Villa at Greenlight Stadium.

KCCA will host FUFA Big League entity Mbarara City on Friday 17th March at MTN Omondi Stadium and the game will be broadcasted live on FUFA TV.

On Sunday 19th March, Calvary FC will welcome Kitara FC at the Midigo Ground.

While Adjumani Town Council take on Ankole Regional League club Bunyaruguru United at Paridi Playground on the same day.

The final game of the round will be played on Monday 20th March as Police FC tussle it out with Ndejje University at Kavumba Recreation Ground live on FUFA TV.

The team with more goals at the end of the match shall progress to the next round.

Incase of a draw in the normal time, penalty shootouts will decide the tie.
