It will be a top of the table clash as Mbarara City welcome leaders NEC FC at the Kakyeka stadium on Thursday.
NEC FC, who are current league leaders with 36 points, are just a point above second placed Mbarara City.
And the game at Kakyeka on thursday presents to them yet another big test in their quest for top flight football next season.
They come into this game having picked a narrow 1-0 win over Ndejje University FC last week, thanks to Marvin Kavuma’s lone strike.
In Mbarara City, they face a side that is still in the race and any slip means they will drop down on the table.
Once again, their outstanding captain Marvin Kavuma, who has been their best player so far this season will be called upon to be at his best if they are to pick a positive result away from home.
Meanwhile, the hosts, Mbarara City, will be seeking to bounce back to winning ways when they take on NEC FC at Kakyeka.
The Ankole Lions were held to a goalless draw against Lugazi FC away from home last week on Thursday.
Back at home, there will no room for error as they seek to Keep in the race.
In NEC FC, they host a side that has been brilliant in this year’s race and it is not a surprise that they are seated at the top.
But Mbarara will bank on their good home run so far this season to get the job done on thursday.
The win on thursday will see Mbarara City leapfrog NEC and they will move to 38 points.
