JT Lady Jaguars Beef Up Squad Ahead of Debut Season in NBL

Newly promoted JT Lady Jaguars have added three players as they prepare for their debut season in National Basketball League.

The new signings are headlined by point guard Ruth Letaru who joins the side after a short spell at KCCA Leopards.

Letaru joined KCCA midway last season after falling out at UCU Lady Canons, and this new move will reunite her with Nicholas Natuhereza who is the Technical Director.

Maimuna Nabbosa has been signed from UCU Lady Canons while Sandra Ayikoru Wangeshi has been acquired from A1 Challenge, The-SportsNation sources have learnt.

Wangeshi averaged 10 points, five rebounds and two assists last year despite A1 Challenge failing to retain their NBL status.

Patricia Alado has also returned to the team and will be a good addition for a side that recently added Jeff Omondi as Head coach.

Maureen Amoding (with the ball) is not playing this season

Nassali Margaret Jackie reportedly left for Miracle Eaglets (traded as Ravens last season) while Brenda Ayere has moved to KIU Rangers.

Joan Tumwine and Among Joan Okurut will not be part of the squad to focus on Studies.

Notably, Maureen ‘Momo’ Amoding is not playing this season because of Work commitments.

The team will once again bank on players like Zainah Lokamweri, Rhoda Naggita, Namuwaya Muhayimuna and Sarah Ageno to put up a contest in what promises to be a tight contest.

JT Lady Jaguars earned NBL promotion in an unbeaten campaign where they swept Kampala University in the finals last season.
